I am thinking of leaving college. I enjoy learning and I am happy to do the work, however I can't bear the environment and the people. I'd love to be able to do my A levels from home, and was wondering is there is any way that is possible? Has anyone done this, and how did you do it, what company did you use? Are there any companies that you can do them for free from if you are under 18? All the companies I have looked into (i.e ICS) charge up to £300 per A level.

Some colleges offer what is called a flexi course where you do your qualifications at home. GCSE's are charged at £70 each so A Levels will be a bit more expensive. Look on websites for local colleges and see if they offer them.

I went back to college 2 years ago ages 21, I must admit, it's hard dealing with people alot younger than me but it has flown by and I am due to leave at the end of April.

It is possible but yes it is more likely that you will be charged around that cost. My sister did 3 a levels at home and found it really hard to motivate herself and soon reapplied for college. She had to fork out about £1000 but luckily she got the money back. Even if you do study at home you will have to go back to your college to take the tests in any case.

I personally think it isn't worth the hassle and if you really cannot stand college then maybe a levels are not for you.

Well it's either that or home tutoring I guess which i think would add up to more in the long run.

College is a funny one, you in your first year? Lower Sixth? i ******* hated Lower Sixth...everyone went really horrible, but Upper Sixth was surprisingly pleasant.

You spoken to your parents about this? They'll help I'm sure if they're okay with it.

Well good luck. £300 per Alevel isn't ~too~ bad if you think about it...my uni course is £3140 A year. lol...sheesh... Three/Four Alevels compared to that is like peanuts...

Anyhoo, you gotta be well motivated too! Home learning is one ******* big distraction! :P

ICS are the best in my option.

They are also accredited so the qualifications won't be worthless later on.
