homogeneous mixture because homo means different right? and air has different components in it, oxygen, nitrogen, other gases, pollutants, pollen (maybe), water vapor... as you can see, air is composed of many different things, but it's not visibly different... homogeneous is when something is made of diff things but it looks the same, so air would be that.

The closest would be Homogeneous Mixture although this isn't strictly true.
A Heterogeneous Mixture would consist of visibly different states such as liquid and solid or different components such as oil and water. A Pure Substance is just that - pure, meaning it consists of just a single component. A compound is something that is composed of two or more elements.
A Homogeneous Mixture is something that consists of several components that are mixed together and in doing so create something of consistent appearance and composition. Air is comprised primarily of the two elements Nitorgen and Oxygen but there are many other elements and compounds present.

Its a homogeneous substance. It is made of several elements that are ot all bonded together, but you can't easily seperate the different compounds that are in the air.
