i've read this it's D because she was doing all that shopping for herself because she felt she deserve it. So i think it's D or C mostly D.

The stockings served as the catalyst for change in Mrs. Sommer's whole being. She started out in the morning thinking only of her children, as always, but left daring to think of a new life of her own. I think it's a natural thing (socially or biologically ingrained?) for women to put others first but you can only do it for so long before you recognize that your own soul needs to be fed. With this in mind, either 'C' or 'D' would be close!

I don't know the story behind, "A Pair of Silk Stockings", so I couldn't answer correctly.

Anyway, I hope someone knows. Or you could keep on reading the story until you finally understand the concept of what you're reading. It always helps us to read more than once so that we could be able to understand more.

E. Mrs. Sommers is a whore that was raised by some people who thought that they knew enough to home school their kids...but they were wrong and she couldn't find a job due to her lack of comon knowledge (learned in normal school)...so she turned to whorein' to make money...

If you told us who wrote the story, we could all read it and form a view about the symbolism in it. By that time, you'd have probably worked out your own answer, but other homeschoolers would have read what I hope is a good story.

could you add the story in so we could read the story and then answer as best we can? we cant make a good answer just from the choices alone, we need to hear the story.
